The Details
"Rich" and "Rubbing rich" are both inspired by Dầu gió (Peppermint oil), but "Giàu" is the version printed with each Dầu gió bottle. Nhichancanh is deeply fond of Dầu gió, since mosquito bites and motion sickness are frequent for the artist. Dầu gió is like a miraculous elixir, used as if it were a magical remedy, so Nhichancanh often draws or carves… Dầu gió. However, while earlier prints of Dầu gió were more basic, the artist has now added Lý - Trần motifs, evoking both the graceful dances of Lý - Trần court maidens and a strong sense of national heritage.
